The Centurion-class battlecruiser was meant to succeed the ageing Inexpugnable-class tactical command ship as the Republic Navy's new capitol ship. And its command tower held spacious quarters for the command crew, with the bridge alone the size of a concert hall. Not only did the Centurion-class have increased cargo capacity and heavier firepower, it carried up to 96 starfighters and was armed with multiple turbolaser, ion cannon, tractor beam and point-defense laser cannon batteries, as well as proton torpedo launchers. The Centurion-class was twice as long as it's contemporary conterpart the Interdictor-class cruiser.
