

This year’s iterations are available in every hue, from matte colors to glossy neutrals. And whether you like to keep your outerwear low-key or make a statement, there’s a puffer-style for everyone, and at every price. It girls and street style stars have vetted the style too we see them bundled up in classic North Face down jackets and glam all-over-printed statement coats from Richard Quinn and Balenciaga. Plus, everyone from Kate Middleton to Sarah Jessica Parker counts themselves as fans of the bubble-shaped coat.

Into collaborations? Telfar has most recently teamed up with Moose Knuckles on a puffed assortment of jackets, hoodies, bags, and even pants. You bet it’s cropped and cut out-even the south of France gets cold, after all. Meanwhile, even the Riviera-ready brand Jacquemus experimented with the wintery style. Still not convinced the puffer is for you? Feminine-forward brands like Khaite have even adopted the trend this fall winter 2021, offering luxe puffers in bright red and leather. Luckily, current options for these fluffy, puffy, and plushy oversized coats are as fashionable as they are practical. But as of late, a puffer coat has transitioned to a must-have when heading out of the house on chillier days. In years past, we likely reached for a puffer when trying to achieve a sportier silhouette in our day-to-day wardrobes or we might have thrown one on for outdoor activities.
